The world has been through technological revolutions before, but nothing like the pace, depth and dramatic scope of the transformations taking place today. Emerging technologies will drastically change humanity, from our cognitive processes to our life expectancy.
The possibilities are inspiring but they are also fraught with risks and threats to our planet and to our very survival. The Next Step: Exponential Life, published by BBVA through its OpenMind initiative, is a collection of the writings of some 20 world-class authors, including thought leaders, scientists and researchers, sharing their findings and thoughts on a wide range of advances including the biosciences, genetics, artificial intelligence and the web of interconnected sensors we know as the Internet of Things.
Jason Pontin, editor in chief and publisher of MIT Technology Review, will lead an evening program with select contributing authors from the most recent book. Join us for a lively discussion around the implications of some of these transformative technologies and strategies on society and the global economy.
